Version 2.1 — now in English, Italian and Spanish

Seven tools live inside
your MacBook notch.

Move your pointer to the notch and it opens. File tray, clipboard history, voice recorder, focus timer, calendar, media player, webcam mirror. Then it disappears back into the black.

MIRROR MODE

Turn the camera on to see yourself

Move your pointer onto the notch. This is the real interface, drawn to the app’s own measurements — every module is one hover away.

One purchase. Seven modules.

No add-ons, no tiers, no upsells. Everything below is in the app you buy today.

Smart Tray

Drag any file into the notch and it waits there. Drop it somewhere else later, share it over AirDrop, take a screenshot straight into the tray, or convert and resize what's inside.

Clipboard history

Everything you've copied, kept on your Mac and nowhere else. Passwords are deliberately excluded: copies from Passwords.app, 1Password, Bitwarden and other managers are never recorded.

Calendar & reminders

Your next event sits under the notch before it starts, and reminders raise an alert you can act on without opening anything. Reads your existing macOS calendars and lists.

Focus timer

A Pomodoro timer that counts down in the notch instead of behind three windows. When it expires the panel opens by itself, so the end of a session is impossible to miss.

Voice memos

Record a thought and get it back as text. Audio is normalised before transcription, so a memo taken at arm's length from the built-in mic still comes back readable — in your own language.

Media player

See and control what's playing in Apple Music or Spotify without switching apps. Artwork tints the card to match the album. Other players are handled through the media keys.

Mirror mode

A quick look at yourself before a call. The camera starts when you open the module and stops the moment you leave it — never in the background.

Battery & downloads, quietly

Charging state and finished downloads appear under the notch on their own, one card at a time, and rotate rather than piling up. They leave without being dismissed.

Once. Not per month, not per version.

Native, signed, and quiet about it.

Written in Swift and SwiftUI — not a web page in a wrapper. Signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so it installs without the "unidentified developer" warning and without asking you to disable anything.

The app runs in Apple's sandbox. The microphone engages only while you're recording and the camera only while the mirror is open. Voice memos, clipboard history and the files in the tray stay on your Mac: there is no sync, no cloud, no account, and nothing to opt out of. The only network requests it makes are to activate your licence and to fetch album artwork from Apple's public iTunes API.

Questions

Which Macs does it run on?

Any Mac running macOS 26.4 or later. Check yours under › About This Mac before buying — on an older macOS the app will not launch, and that is the single most common reason for a refund request.

Do I need a MacBook with a notch?

No. On a Mac with a notch the panel takes the exact measurements of the cutout and hides inside it. On a display without one — an iMac, a Mac mini, an external monitor — it draws a notch of the same proportions flush against the top edge, and everything works the same way. The panel lives on your primary display.

How do I open it?

Move the pointer to the notch and the panel drops down; move away and it folds back. There is no keyboard shortcut and no menu bar icon — the notch is the interface. While the panel is closed, clicks pass straight through it to whatever is underneath.

What does it cost in battery and CPU?

With music playing and the media card on screen the app itself measured 0.33% CPU on an M-series MacBook Pro, down from 6.4% before the animations were rewritten on Core Animation. With nothing playing it sits near zero. It polls your music player more slowly when you're not looking at it, and stops entirely when there's nothing to show.

Is my data private?

Voice memos, clipboard history and tray files are stored on your Mac and never uploaded. There is no account, no telemetry and no analytics SDK. Clipboard history deliberately ignores anything copied from a password manager. Transcription uses Apple's speech recognition, which by default sends audio to Apple for processing; you can switch it to on-device in the settings, at some cost to accuracy. Full detail in the privacy policy.

Can I try it before buying?

There's no trial yet. If the app doesn't work as described on a supported Mac and I can't fix it for you, you get your money back within 14 days — the conditions are set out in the refund policy.

How many Macs can I use my licence on?

Two. Verifying your licence doesn't consume an activation, so day-to-day use won't eat into it. If you replace a Mac and run out of activations, email me and I'll reset it.

There's a GitHub project called DynamicNotch — is that this?

No. That's unrelated GPL-licensed source code by someone else that happens to share the name. This is a separate, signed, supported product.

What happens if it stops working after a macOS update?

Email me. Updates are free for the life of the app and there is no paid upgrade to a next major version.
